Coming Home!

Haven't heard a ton from the team, or seen a lot of pictures, but I do know they all got to enjoy a day at the beach yesterday and take a well deserved break from the busy week they have had working.
Today is their last day, and they will fly out this afternoon from Santo Domingo and get into GR very late. Pray that they have safe and seamless travels!

Today, the team was able to enjoy a relaxing day, starting with church this morning at the Open Walls church in the community!

1st Day Fun!

The team looked like they worked hard today (maybe they just looked like it) =). According to Stephanie they got the opportunity to walk through the community and work on the new rooms at the camp. Check out some of the pics she shared with us!

The Team Made it!

Another team has made it to the Dominican for another fun-filled week! Be praying as they work for safety, for health, for fun and for faiths to grow! Keep checking back here over the next week to see their progress! (Don't worry - Jacob arrived WITH the crutches...he didn't acquire them there.) =)

Villa Altagracia

Today we are making the last day count by spending it in another community. This morning we held the carnival for a small school in the village that schools about 100 kids. This is something the kids have never experienced or even really knew what to do with, but they seemed to have a blast.
The team walked away very blessed by this experience and we are excited for the new possibilities is this very poor area in the future.
This afternoon, a group of workers returned to the village to lay blocks for a water purification center, so this community can also begin to have clean water.
We have also began the packing and clean up process as we prepare for take off tomorrow afternoon out of Santo Domingo, and landing in Grand Rapids around 11:15pm.
We appreciate the prayers, support and love from back home. We are sad to leave, but also very excited to go home and see our loved ones and share of the possibilities here in the DR.

Plugging Away

We have been plugging away today, working on concrete, photo editing for the school photos, re-planning and putting together a carnival for Villa Altagracia - another community we are moving to doing outreach at next. We said goodbye to our Three Rivers friends today, as they flew out back to Michigan. We are very sad to see them go as they have been a huge part of our team over the last week.
We also had the opportunity to see our sponsor kids today, which is always a fun time!
Everyone is feeling good today and working in teams on the different projects. Thank you for the continued prayers for safety, health and the hearts of all involved. Pray we are bold neighbors who are open to God's movement and outreach as we wind down our trip here.

Another Day in the Making

Today has been a great day so far! Brick laying, cement mixing, picture taking, gift-distributing for sponsored kids, and we're all still going!
