There are only 43 days until we depart for the Dominican Republic. A team of 28, almost half are 25 and younger. Many families are part of this team, and many individuals are first timers to the DR!
We'll be hosting one more fund raiser before the trip, and we are happy to say that all the funds from the March 6 dinner will go directly to the Kitchen Project itself! Join us for some yummy Dominican dishes on March 6 at Mason County Reformed Church. Meals will be between the 9am and 11am service (around 10am), where egg dishes will be served, then again after the 11am service (around 12:30) where we'll have yummy, traditional Dominican soups. (There will be a Chicken Noodle soup for the youngens, and less brave).
All meals are by donation. Give what your heart feels!
Thanks again for all the support and prayers out there!

Creative Fundraising
So the team has been busy brainstorming ideas for fundraisers that can benefit not only the team and the project, but the community around us as well. One great example of this are our famous indoor yard sales. We make pure profit off of this fundraiser since all our stuff is donated, and we sell it for donation, allowing people in the community that need clothing and household necessities get them for the price they name.
We would love to come up with some original ideas for fundraisers that are helpful and fun.
So, what ideas do you have? We're open to consider anything.
Leave your ideas as blog comments, or find the discussion board topic on our facebook fan page - MCRC Dominican Outreach Team.

Why not kick off your holiday season with an old fashioned tree search? The Dominican team will be having their very own Christmas Tree sale at Mason County Reformed Church on Saturday, December 4 and Saturday, December 11 from 10am-6pm.
Get a good tree for a good price for a good cause! Trees will be priced between $15-$20! AND there will be FREE hot chocolate! Come on down and start a family tradition. We'll provide the traditional Christmas music, bonfire, traditional crafts, and yummy food for sale. Make your tree shopping like the ones you see in the movies.

Yard Sale Success!
Thanks to everyone that made it out to our indoor yard sale event this past Saturday! It was a HUGE success, with by far the most stuff we've ever had at a sale! The team managed to raise $1289 from the sale.
Our next scheduled event will be the November 19-20th art show at the Knights of Columbus hall on Jebavy drive in Ludington. We'll be selling crafts and food at the show.
We currently are selling apple pies and caramel corn too. They will be here just in time for Thanksgiving and the holiday season! Be sure to order yours today for your family and friends.
The caramel corn makes a great gift-basket filler for Christmas, and the pies a wonderful addition to your holiday meal.
