Trust in the Lord

We are spending the day relaxing after spending the morning at church. The service was about trusting in the Lord and praying to Him for what we need.
We've had some powerful devotional times as a team. Everyone has been opening up and sharing deep things that pertain to the devotions. Jeff has done a wonderful job leading. We are truly coming together as a wonderful team and bonding well.
Please be in prayer for the Conrad family as they found out today that Pete's dad passed away. Though there are many ups and down on the team, we know that God is in contol and we can trust in Him to grow and take care of us.
Thanks for all your prayers and support back home for our team. We are comforted in the fact that we have that support back home.

Here are some more pictures of what we've done so far!

A girl here from Virginia, Allison, collected almost 2000 pairs of shoes for kids in the Dominican. We got the opportunity to help distribute some of them.

Loading up on candy to take out into the community for the kids.

Memories are already being made!

Hey everyone,
We are all doing great! Today, some of us worked on mixing concrete and others had the opportunity to go help teach English at the school.

Here are some pictures from yesterday:

We're Here!!!

Hi friends!
Just want to send you a quick update that we've made it to the Dominican!
We made it into the camp about 1:15am this morning. This morning we had the opportunity to tour the community of Los Alcarrizos and hang out with some of the kids. It was truly rewarding to walk along with the kids and see how different things are.
Just a quick update for now, but we'll get some pictures up as soon as we can! Thanks for your prayers! We are all doing great!

Packed Up

The team spent some time packing up tonight. We met and weighed bags, arranged packing, bonded, organized, did final confirmations and paper work, and now we are anticipating our take off on Thursday morning from MCRC.
Please be in prayer for our travels, safety, health, loved ones we're leaving back home, and for God to work in and through us.
Stay with this blog to gain updates as we go!

Christmas Time is Here...

When did that happen?
The team is forming well. Tickets are ordered. Bonds are being made already. Things are looking good.
The team was able to celebrate Christmas with a team party this past week. There was yummy food, funny White Elephant gifts, and lots of fellowship. We have a great team, and we are all getting pumped up to embark on our next (or for some of us, our first) trip to the DR.
Be praying for the team and the people there!

Fall Fund Raisers are Here!

The team is planning all sorts of fall fund raisers, and we're pretty excited about them!
They are continuing their concessions work at the Bryant Soccer Field each Saturday until October 22. Come down, watch a game, and get some goodies from the concession stand.

We're also planning our infamous indoor yard sale for October 28 AND 29th! Bring in some donations for the sale, or check out the donations on Friday from 6-9pm, or Saturday from 8am-2pm! All sales are by donation, so you won't find any better deals in town! You can start bringing in the stuff you want to donate Thursday, October 27 all day.

Keep in touch and learn about more fund raiser for next month! Contact MCRC if you have any questions.
